About this pastel:

These are the foothills near my home. The green fields in front abruptly slope down to the blue hill, leaving an unseen valley. It creates a simplified arrangement without showing the transition of those fields moving up to join the hill. The arrangement is simply strips of land, hill and sky.

Everything in this composition is set up to allow a soft glow to permeate the entire landscape and it gives off an aura peace that I find very appealing.
