ORIGINAL PASTELS ON PAPER

"These colored chalks have been around since the late 1600’s. They are always visible in the studio, lined up in their boxes and ready to be put to work. The colors are so compelling lying side by side, teasing you to try them.

Unlike the oil paints, pastels are already mixed, just waiting to be picked up. On the paper, their dusty quality collects light, layering with the other colors in a unique way. I have often made use of their immediacy to make quick sketches, experiments and enjoyed putting them to use for larger, formal works."

All images are pastel on sanded paper. Prices are unframed unless noted otherwise.
