About this oil:
Ultramarine blue is one of my favorite colors and for this oil I set out to combine it with other colors that were a bit less bright. As I began to paint it in, there was a soft focus in the trees that I really liked and I continued it throughout.
The aquamarine blue is the brightest and most-used color, with everything else in a supporting role.
All of the elements softly glow and the overall effect is one of calm. It permeated the studio while I was working on it, there was a kind of hush and everything seemed to slow down – a nice experience.
