Snow Running Uphill, oil on panel, 24 x 24 inches
Exhibited: Dominique Boisjoli, Santa Fe, NM
My thanks to the Boston collector of this oil
Working off and on with this piece for a couple of months, I was surprised to discover my growing attachment to this little group of trees. As it often happens here in Colorado at 6000’ where I live, the snow comes off the trees quickly and that’s the case here. But if you really want to know, I didn’t want the snow interfering with the fun I was having ‘coloring in’ the foliage on the trees.
As the title indicates, the snow is catching light behind the trees on the right and it’s creating a slight change in the snow and tree color. That bit of warm light is just enough to bring the snow and the trees to life.
