Recent interview: Meet Ken Elliott / Bold Journey Interview/ Q & A, September 2024
Ken Elliott is a Colorado artist creating abstracted landscapes in oils and pastels.
His works are in numerous private and corporate collections in the US and throughout the world.
Some of his landscape paintings and pastels are reproduced as dramatic, limited edition giclee prints.
“I am compelled to work from the trees, skies, lakes and streams in their endless variations. I don’t try to recreate nature (even Monet said he never got it right) or attempt storytelling. Instead, the works are simplifications and exaggerations of nature."
Although his paintings loosely reference photographs and plein-air sketches, they refuse to exist within the confines of already prescribed images. Rather, they stand independent of any specific place or time, the fulfilled pursuits of the artist’s visual and intellectual explorations. Elliott wields color boldly, creating sizzling, vibrant shapes that are at once kinetic and placid, grounded in unifying illumination, and focused compositions.”

Commissions / Workshops and Mentoring
Commissions
Ken has produced a large number of commissions for the private and public sectors and typically has ongoing commissions throughout the year. Often the commission idea comes from a current or sold oil with the client interested in that motif but in a new way, color, or size.
To commission a painting contact Ken by email to set up a time to discuss your project. Allow 6-8 weeks for completion.
